Honourable Reverend Chief Leslie Boseto is a Pacific theologian, United Church leader and parliamentarian. He is President of the Lauru Land Conference of Tribal Community and was elected President of the Pacific Churches Conference (1986-1991). He was the first Pacific Islander elected as one of the Presidents of the World Council of Churches (1991-1998).He was elected to the National Parliament of the Solomon Islands in 1997. He currently chairs the Special Select Committee on Immunities, Privileges and Powers of Parliament. He lives in Choiseul Province. On 6 January 2019 a Knight Commander of the British Empire, KBE was awarded to Reverend Leslie Tanaboe BOSETO, for services to the church, rural and community development.
